Light RTM Industry Expert Alan
Harper Steps Down From Day-To-Day Operations At MVP To Focus on
New LRTM Product & Application Development
Kent, WA – It
has been three years since Magnum Venus purchased Plastech T.T.,
creating the new company Magnum Venus Plastech. In those three
years, MVP has worked very hard to bring the expertise and
technologies of the two companies together to offer the industry
the only complete source for Light RTM equipment and expertise.
MVP is pleased to announce that, as of the JEC 2009 exhibition,
that transition is now complete.
Working
together, the engineers and technicians at MVP and the Plastech
facility in the U.K. were able to take the best of both
technologies and begin developing exciting new systems like the
Patriot SSB with MotoCat and the new Patriot Pro RTM System that
brings a level of precision to the RTM process not seen before.
The MVP Advanced Design Group has also worked hard to develop
several exciting LRTM accessories including the Smart Cat - a
totally new control system for progressive catalyst control
during injection, the Universal Insert with its full range of
interchangeable mould inserts, and the new Air Ejector to name
just a few.
They also
worked together with another industry expert, and MVP LRTM/Infusion
Technical Specialist, Charles Tur on expanding the LRTM Training
course originally pioneered by Alan Harper and taking it “on the
road” around the world. This comprehensive course provides a
true transfer of technology by its conclusion, allowing the
customer to bring this new process into their production and see
immediate results. Customers around the world have benefitted
from the new format, and the course has been deemed a great
success.
With all of the
transition pieces now in place, some may wonder what the future
holds for Alan Harper and MVP. MVP is pleased to say that,
while Alan will be phasing out of the day-to-day operations of
the Plastech facility in the U.K., he will still be very active
in researching and developing new and innovative advanced Light
RTM applications and technologies. He will also be working
closely with customers on detailed projects for mould supplies,
and developing new processing methods. His experience and
expertise are unmatched and highly valued at MVP, and we are
very happy that he will continue to be a part of expanding MVP’s
presence in the world of Light RTM.
The day-to-day
operations of the MVP Light RTM Division in the U.K. will
continue under General Manager Roger Waddington. Roger has been
moving more into this role during the transition and is ready to
take the reigns of bringing Alan’s designs to the market.
The future of
LRTM at MVP is very bright. Recently, MVP partnered with
Composites One and FormaShape to form a new Closed Mould
Alliance to provide the latest in LRTM training and technology
to the North American market. This alliance will give customers
all of the tools they need, from detailed training, to the
latest MVP injection systems and accessories for Light RTM, to
the follow up to ensure they are able to successfully bring
Light RTM to their production.
MVP will also
utilize the knowledge and talents of Steven Warden, Process and
Controls Engineer for MVP, to develop innovative new process
control systems that will lead the way in LRTM control.
New
technologies, expanded training and top-notch customer service
are staples at MVP, and will help our customers to successfully
bring safety, precision and efficiency to their production.
MVP President
Tom Hedger will be making a presentation during JEC on
Wednesday, March 25 at 4:00 p.m. to honor the many achievements
of Alan Harper. MVP would like to invite his many friends and
colleagues to join them in this celebration, so please take time
to stop by the MVP booth (V58) at the JEC 2009 Exhibition to
wish Alan well as he moves into his new role.
